I’ve been considering my whole pregnancy if I wanted to blog about this new baby. I changed my blog name and haven’t blogged much or at all since my first son Alexander died 2 years ago. But the more I thought about it the more I want to for this baby and to get back in to blogging. So here it goes!
Albert Henry O’Brien was born October 25th, 2024 by planned c-section. I was fine doing labor the first time around and not again – haha! Iykyk. Other than my spinal numbing injection taking four pokes – ouch! – the whole delivery went smoothly and he was a healthy. 7 pounds, 12 ounces. 19.5 inches long, wailing baby. Now that he’s a month old it’s time to start the monthly update series!
Milestones: From his first week of life he’s been a pretty strong little dude. He lifts his head pretty good and his first few tummy times he mastered rolling over from his stomach to his back. He likes tummy time but also he just would keep pushing himself over to roll on his back. Haha! He even will push his legs out to stand up with help and scoots himself very slowly around.
Eating: His appetite is not small. We do a combination of breastfeeding and bottle-fed breast milk or formula if there’s no breast milk left. He gets very gassy occasionally and has drops work wonders with walking and bouncing around with mom or dad.
Teething: No teeth to talk of yet.
Sleeping: He sleeps fairly well. Anywhere from 1.5-4 hour blocks depending on how hungry or gassy he is. He hates swaddles but he does sleep better with them on. Often he’s found napping on someone.
Wearing: He still fits in newborn sizes but they’re starting to get snug around the shoulders. I still have a few outfits to stuff him in to. Haha!
Loves: Albert loves snuggles, milkies, warm fuzzy blankets, his mom dad and sissy, car rides, and looking out the windows.
